The residency is open to professional artists of all fields: visual artists, writers, curators, craft artists, writers, film directors, film makers, dancers, choreographers, stage performers, performance artists, composers, musicians, audio and new media artists.

What does the residency expect of the visiting artist?
All expenses (other than studio and accommodation) such as living costs, travel, materials, insurance and transport must be covered by the artist. A fee for internet and electricity must be paid by the residing artist (NOK 2500 a month). The artist may apply for possible funding from her / his own home country.
The selected artist must be prepared to be quite self-reliant. We are running the residency on tight administrative resources. However we are doing our best to set up contacts and network, and the artists in Steigen are very open-minded and friendly.
